Dr. Ruey T. Stephens Jr. was born in Houston, Texas to Elder Ruey T. Stephens Sr. and Norma Jean Stephens. He was considered a miracle child because his parents had lost 6 previous children to miscarriages and stillborn births. Yet during this pregnancy, his parents and other praying believers declared this child would live. This 7th child was indeed birthed through prayer and faith.
At the age of 18 Pastor Stephens sought God in prayer knowing he needed to be saved. Upon giving his life to the Lord, he began to run this race with fervor and purpose.
Pastor Stephens graduated from Madison Senior High School. He received a full scholarship in music to Texas Southern University. His gift on the saxophone opened many doors for him that he never imagined were possible. He won every award and scholarship in music that was available. He was chosen to play his saxophone in various places across the country. He played for such dignitaries as Governor Rick Perry and Senator Rodney Ellis at the State Capitol in Austin. He played for former president George H.W. Bush at a Texas Southern University gala.

Pastor Stephens believes if the word of God cannot grow a church, then it cannot be done. He teaches the members the power of the word of God and how to effectively apply it to life. He does not believe in "prostituting the Word" for his own financial benefit. Instead he believes in being transparent in ministry that people may trust their spiritual growth as well as monetary gifts to the church. This simple belief has created a place of freedom for all who enter the doors.
Study of the Word is his primary focus. He attended the C.H. Mason Bible College to further develop his knowledge in the Word. He graduated from GMOR Theological Institute in Houston, Texas. From this institute he has received the following degrees: Bachelors of Arts Degree in Religious Counseling, Masters Degree in Religious Counseling, Masters Degree in Theology, and a Doctoral Degree in Divinity.
Pastor Stephens is married to Latissa Stephens. He teaches that his first ministry is to his wife. I Timothy 3 is a standard that shapes his character and actions. He believes that he must be a good ruler of his own home in order to be a good ruler of the house of the Lord. He is a man of integrity through the strength and power of God.
